Psychological Safety

A happily safe state of mind not only provides security, but also ensures psychological and emotional safety. Ensuring a happily safe state of mind for every occupant should be our purpose as designers.

I explored the idea of creating safe and inclusive environment as a research project at Gensler. After conducting numerous interviews with design professionals, urbanists, activists and members of the public, I came to the conclusion that crating safety is beyond just physical and psychological and emotional safety are required to created inclusive and equitable spaces.
Creating spaces that allow occupants to (without their knowledge) be in the happily safe state of mind, results in functional, equitable, inclusive spaces that serve their intended audiences in the best way possible.
